Breastfeeding and Baby Care Classes:
(In the privacy of your own home.)
Are you thinking about Breastfeeding but don’t know if it’s right for you?
I offer a two-part class which will help you to make a decision to breast feed or formula feed. If more than 1 couple is taking the class together, a discounted price will apply per couple.
Part One: 1.5 hours
- I will answer all of your breastfeeding questions

- I will discuss the pros and cons of breastfeeding.
- We can discuss your feelings about breast feeding.
- I will give you evidence based information in handout form.
If you decide that breastfeeding is not for you, the cost for part one is $125.00
Part Two: 2.5 hours
- I will show you how to determine if your nipples are flat or inverted.
- I will demonstrate different types of positions to hold your baby while breastfeeding.
- We will talk about latching and difficulties that may arise.
- I will demonstrate how to use a breast pump and accessories.
- I will explain how to collect and store breast milk.
- We will watch a DVD about breastfeeding.
- Questions and answers to conclude our class.
- A breastfeeding pillow is included along with nipple cream and 100% cotton breast pads.
The total cost of part one and part two is: $ 425.00
Baby Care Class With Hands On Practice: 2 hours
- We will discuss the physical appearance of the newborn
- What is the Apgar Score and how is it determined
- How to diaper your baby
- Techniques for successful burping
- Common reasons a baby cries and how to soothe them
- Giving your baby a bath
- Umbilical Cord care
- Caring for the circumcised baby
- Swaddling
- Where will my baby sleep?
- Baby Bjorn and Slings
- Questions and Answers
- Layette & Nursery (what will I need for my newborn baby?)
- My hospital stay/What to expect.
Cost for this class is $350.00
Baby gift included, plus The Happiest Baby on the Block DVD
Sleep Training:
- baby must be 6 months and weigh a minimum of 13 lbs.
- baby must be healthy
- baby must not be teething, but can be in between teething times
- we will discuss setting up routines

- nap time
- pacifiers and other sleep aids
- setting the mood for sleep
- good sleep habits
- traveling with your baby
- At the initial visit we will discuss techniques and a sleep plan for your child
Consecutive visits will be when child goes down for the night and wakes to start the day - Initial visit is $325
- Each consecutive night is $25.00 per hour
Sleep training ranges from 4 days – 3 weeks depending on your child.
